Normal Delivery
A Normal Delivery, also called a vaginal delivery, is the natural method of childbirth where a baby is born through the birth canal (vagina) without the use of surgery (like a C-section).
Stages of Normal Delivery:
- Labor Onset – Begins with regular contractions and cervix dilation.
- Active Labor – Cervix dilates fully (10 cm), and contractions intensify.
- Delivery of Baby – The baby moves through the birth canal and is delivered.
- Delivery of Placenta – The placenta (afterbirth) is expelled naturally.
Key Benefits of Normal Delivery:
- Shorter recovery time
- Less hospital stay
- Lower risk of surgical complications
- Helps in quicker breastfeeding initiation
When is Normal Delivery Advised?
- When there are no complications during pregnancy
- Baby is in a head-down position
- Mother is healthy and labor progresses naturally
